"9th- My first birdie shot"

Hi all, time to de-stress myself by posting some birdie shots i took in OZ,

i suppose bird in wild symbolise freedom, so i dedicated my shots

not only to my birdie frens here, also to myself..free from

stress..WORK stress of course!

#1. laughing kookaburra commonly found in OZ
70-300mm zoom lens, f/5,1/125s (tis subject was in fact sitting not too far from me)

#2. i took somewhere in Victor Habour on the way back from granite Island
70-300mm zoom lens, f/7.1, 1/500s

#3 i took tis in Hahdorf town, a little gloomy sky as fall has arrived (back home sky should be better, i thought)
18-70mm zoom lens,F/9,1/500s

i took the shots in auto mode, no time to do setting, but i do check its WB. All image uncropped and handheld.

C n C please, thanks.

Cheers Bee

   Hi Bee,
Wow, you went to OZ? I'm so envious. Nice kookabura shot. They're not shy are they? My dad told me that when he was there visiting my relatives, the kookabura stole their bbq meat away when they were not watching. In fact he show me a photo of my uncle next to the bbq pit and the kookabura standing right in front of him watching at the food. Funny bird.

Hi Darren, Con, Wei Luen, thanks for yr kind comments.

i did a search ID for my bird model, the following is e copy and paste version fr its website;

The Kookaburra is the most Australian of birds
The best known member of the kingfisher family, Kookaburras can be found in all eastern states and south-eastern South Australia. And has been "introduced" into Tasmania and south-western Western Australia.

Its raucous call or laughter is very endearing to most Australians, and can be heard before dawn and at dusk. As they live in small family groups, when one starts to chortle, the others join in.

Ya WL the bird not a shy type to me, just a cool cool guy seems to be.

Cheers Bee

   Darren,
It's a digital copy with my dad. It was in his camera. I have to ask him to bring it to Singapore next time he comes. My parents stay in Malaysia.
